Overview of interior of a large orangery / conservatory
To blend with this victorian house that has tall ceilings and to give the conservatory / orangery grandeur it was designed to be tall
This inside ceiling height of the new conservatory / orangery is over 14 feet and the windows and doors proportionately large
In this south facing conservatory / orangery, to avoid excessive sun issues, quite a lot of brickwork is incorporated so there is always places in the conservatory / orangery that have a shaded area as the sun moves around
To soften the look of the 3 windows and converted interior door to a window each window is given an arched top. Being wood framed it was possible to create a bespoke design
Interior lighting of the orangery / conservatory is provided by dimmable LED spotlights and two large dimmable LED ceiling lanterns.
Ventilation is offered by doors, windows and by automated roof lights that open and close to regulate temperature. Heating provided by 'wet' underfloor heating with supplimentary electric heaters when quick temperature increases are demanded
The orangery / conservatory is connected to the house by a large 3 fold door that was inserted to replace a bay window
The orangery / conservatory replaced an existing smaller conservatory where access to it was via two small French doors that have now been converted to an arched window under which is a small cupboard to accommodate the under floor heating manifold
